In 2014 Pelican took on the kingdom fathoms below, where Ariel longs to leave her ocean home for the world above. The score includes Part of Your World, She’s in Love, and Under the Sea.
The production won the Adelaide Theatre Guide awards for Best Ensemble and Best Technical in the amateur category.
Production standards are extremely high, with Frith and Green’s imaginations and creativeness working on over-drive, especially with all sea creatures being equipped with skate shoes, shoes with retractable wheels, causing them to glide effortlessly around the stage and from one scene to another. Mark Stefanoff’s classy Broadway style choreography utilises this footwear very cleverly.

Disney’s classic musicals are still proving today that they are able to stand the test of time. The Little Mermaid is no exception, and Pelican Productions have done a brilliant job bringing the classic tale and the iconic songs to the stage.
